The Group
Gluttony is five improvisers who do long form, montage-based improv. Trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade, The Peoples Improv Theater, Magnet, and Second City, the members came together in July 2006. They have been practicing, performing and hanging out ever since while gathering what they like to think of as a cult following. The group is proud of their resident Canadian, Kelly Kreye, who hails from Stony Plain, Alberta. (map)
The ensemble began under the coaching of celebrated Chicago improviser Jean Villepique (Switchboard, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Since Jeans’ moving to L.A. the group has been coached by Christina Gausus (Let’s Have a Ball) Amey Goerlich (Krompf, Wicked F*#king Queer and UCBW), Jackie Clarke (Death by Roo Roo, Julie & Jackie) amongst others.
The group combines elements of the Harold (Del Close) with techniques from legendary shows like 4 Square and Switchboard, the group has created longform improv with an entirely original format.
